Ghana is on Africa’s beautiful west coast, sandwiched between Cote D’Ivoire and Togo. It borders the Atlantic Ocean so seafood dishes are a staple but fish is often smoked or dried for preservation.
More than one hundred ethnic dialects live peacefully and happily alongside each other in this rich and diverse country criss crossed by rivers across lowland coastal plan in the south, undulating savannah in the north and heavily forested hills in the west. The tropical climate brings rainy seasons and varying temperatures throughout the year.
Amongst Ghana’s famous and revered sons and daughters are: Dr. Kwegyir Aggrey, Dr. Mensah Sarbah, Yaa Asantewa, Okomfo Anokye, Mr Kofi Annan (former General Secretary of the United Nations), Cardinal Peter K.A. Turkson, Judge Akua Kuenyehia, Ama Ata Aidoo and Michael Essien.
An absolute must to visit!
