Lloyd Mensah
A founder of Jollof Pot, Lloyd was brought up in London eating English food at school and Ghanaian food at home and it soon became clear which he preferred, citing eels as one of the worst things he has eaten.

“I absolutely love omotuo which are rice balls with Nkate Nkwan, a peanut soup, and okra. Put simply this meal encapsulates what food is all about – it excites the taste buds and satisfies your hunger,” he says.

Adwoa Hagan-Mensah
One of the founders of Jollof Pot, Adwoa has done her time behind the market stall and serving at catered events and now enjoys creating the fabulous dishes and menus taking traditional Ghanaian food and giving it that special Jollof Pot twist.

Despite loving almost everything about Ghanaian food, which reminds her of her childhood, she draws the line at eating snake.

“I love waayke which is brown colored rice with kidney beans, served with spinach and Agushi (crushed melon seeds) stew and shito which is a condiment that is a blend of scotch bonnet, garlic, dried shrimps, ginger and tomato. This meal reminds me of my youth in Ghana when you could buy this meal on a street corner and it would be served to you in a leaf,” she says.
